Can I borrow a rear wheel please?
Arrgh! The freehub on my spesh rear wheel has a loose freehub, and it may or may not be fixed in time for my tri this Sunday. If it's not fixed, the shop aims put it back together in the current condition for the race.
Does anyone in the sarfeast (Reading/Guildford etc) have a 9/10spd shimano compatible 700C rear wheel they could lend for the weekend? Payment in beer and wine.
Cheers
I know there are a bunch of pie rights closer to you but if you get stuck you can borrow one of mine.
Thanks for all the offers.
I'm hoping they can rise to the challenge. It is a Specialized own-brand hub. Most of the feedback on t'interweb for others in a similar situation is "buy new wheels". Parts availability is not good
I'd forgotten how light the bike is without the wheels on. Quite slow though.
I have a Shimano 10 speed ultegra on Vuelta Chromelite wheels set with matching Michelin Pro Race 3s wot U saw on the BH run. If my new bike turns up before the weekend, you are welcome to borrow. I also have an old spare Bontrager rear wheel with 7 speed and a Conti tyre.
Cyclezone might have a spare if you are lucky as well.
It's at Cyclezone! Fingers crossed.
A 10spd will fit on to an 8spd hub won't it?

Depends on the wheel. My Shimano 5600's are 8/9/10 compatible, but some are 8/9 or 9/10 only.

You wore Mrs Dustboy down then ....
Do you want to borrow mine?
I have an entry level Shimano wheel with a 9 speed cassette on you can borrow.
Only used on turbo so cannot comment on speed
I live in Woking, but will be in Godalming on Friday

I have my wheel back from the LBS. Many thanks to all who offered their wheels in this time of need.
Whilst not waiting completely until the last minute, I did not want to put anyone to any trouble until I knew I wasn't going to have a wheel.
Many thanks again for all your offers. Teas are on me at Newlands next time (or a pint after/before a race).
