I need a swim hat that covers ears (have ear infections) and that does not give head ache . I got a large silcone hat which stops water getting in ears but causes headache .

any suggestion ?

Neoprene one. Covers ears, no headache. Might be a bit warm in the pool though

i swim in swimming pools so that might be the problem.

is there something like thinner neoprene hats that i can use for indoor pool ?

Ear plugs?  Or does it have to be a hat as well?

Schmunks still has a couple of Pirate swim hats. Try one and see.

I was going to suggest ear plugs too. For me, swim hats which cover my ears don't actually stop water getting in them. They do keep it out to a certain extent, but not all that much...

I find the thick hats like the pirate ones fit too tight and give me a headache........i use the cheaper ones they give away at races........stay on no problems..but not that waterproof really,...but i wear earplugs every time i swim..

When my daughter had glue ear she had to swim with earplugs and a neoprene headband, like this one:

Between them they did the job.

Where abouts are you? Custom made earplugs would keep the water out......

I find that the putty style ear plugs keep the water out just fine. Never swim without them.

Would they work similar to expanding foam?

i got ear infection come back even with the ear plugs. i got the earband but i was very unimpressed with it and cant see how it would be water tight. i used to get water in my ears when i just had the ear plugs alone but the hat with the plugs stops the problem with water in ears complete. now have headache is i wear it too long but it better than infections i suppose
