Nobody seems to be about tonight so I'll take the easy option of the pool but is anyone up for a splash at the weekend.

I need a recce of the 1500m loop now I've paid me money for the following weekend's race, although I suspect there maybe one or two people to follow that weekend ....

DTB and I should be along this evening, AND on Saturday morning....
Hmm, that's almost like training or something....

Steady now, don't want to over do it

What time on Saturday or are you thinking of going?  I could do with some pointers on how to negitiate the lke from seasoned professionals

There may be some seasoned professionals going, but I don't know what time they're getting there - we'll be aiming for 6.30, which will probably mean 7

That's a bit out of your way just to go for a bacon butty HH

They are very nice though

Swim last night was crap for me, but only 2 mins slower than Saturday over 1900m so no big deal really..
Nice to meet Soupy and a new forumite whose name I can't remember.......

There seemed to be less weeds around as well - the guy taking names/doing the rescue boat said the weeds get cut but then sometimes the speedboats disturb it all again, which is a bit of a shame....

Not sure if anyone's seen that you can buy a block of 10 swims there - apparently any left at the end of this season can be carried over. Spoke to Rick Kiddle there last night and they'll be sorting membership-type cards for those who buy a block.
He's also just bought a double decker bus for using as a shop etc at the lake

I might venture along on Saturday morning too.  I didn't have a bacon buttie yesterday so I could do with a buttie fix.  They are by far the best in the area.

Good to meet you too HH.

Double decker buses seem to be the new must have accessory for lakes!!

These bacon butties are getting rave reviews, getting up at 6am on Saturday is suddenly seeming like a much better idea

I should try and remember what this swimming lark is all about so will do something in the morning to earn my bacon butty,  will be there about 7am ish.

Lovely sun, lovely bacon butty not so keen on the safari through the weeds. I did enjoy the weed free bit though as I like the out and back 1500.

Good to meet HH, ditchy, jaffa and trogs.

Aw - I didn't get up in time.

Glad you had a good time but sounds like we have to send Dustboy out there with his underwater shears before the next time.

Yeah, weeds are getting a bit problematic in places.  Chap in a boat was doing his best to try to clear a channel through the worst bit on the 'correct' line between first and second buoys, which is good - 'cept I still can't swim in a straight line.  I'm getting quite good at adapting my stroke to pull myself over the weed rather than trying to swim through it.

Bacon and egg butty was as good as ever.

Good to see you again too Bluey

Good to meet you too Bluey

I must admit I didn't really have a problem with the weeds on Saturday.....I definitely didn't have a problem with the bacon and egg roll
