Now, Fegan:-
You must not slack
Or get off track
That mental whip crack
No holding back
The yellow and black
Honour you carry
Oops, rhyming did pack
In.

the inferno in Switzerland is pretty tough http://inferno.ch/index.php?page=269

swim in a cold alpine lake, road and mountain bike over some tough alpine passes, then a fairly vertical run

beautiful scenery, I tried running part of the course when I was there in the summer, but soon turned round and ran along the bottom of the valley instead...

the thing wiv these events is preperation to cope wiv the climbin,no easy way other than loads of hill reps.proper ones that take 10 mins plus that work yr legs on the way down as well as up,if yr not a fell runner u wil ava nasty suprise tryin to run down the ben,n lose a lot of time.can b boring doin 1-2 hrs of hill rep,but pays off on race day.did peris horeshoe in wales a few yrs ago 18 miles and 8500ft climb as club champs long race, and wasted all my mates wiv this training finished 12th overall and 25 mins in front of nxt from my club.sufer in trainin and u will cope beta on the day.

Nevermind City to Summit, I reckon a great place for an iroman distance race would be the Isle of Arran in the Firth of Clyde.

Sea swim in Lamlash Bay to Holy Isle and back. Then a couple of laps of the island on the bike (1 lap on the main road is 55.5 miles) then pick your route for the marathon!

Iron Little Sister - I TOTALLY agree with the Arran idea - I thought exactly the same thing when I was there last year.

It's be awesome!

You want to ask Dark Vader about that one... believe he did exactly that...

that all well and good, but this race is going ahead,so lets get it done and support it.want to make it tougher use skye and the cuillin ridge for the run
