My Dyslexic brain misread the vb as something else at first.

If it's any good Haynes who do the car books do a bycycle book got it and it's pretty basic but sound. Not sure if still in print but seen it a lot a charity shops.

ah, someone I work with is really into volleyball, he coaches a team for the school. I don''t really know his background, but I think he might have played at National level....

I have that book, it is basic but that is what I need. It was the first time that I could not identify a tool he was asking for. As he is Mr practical and works in the tool trade I have picked up some knowledge over the years, but a chain link tool was a new one. I cheat and get him to get his hands dirty and do work on bikes/cars, I just supply the mugs of coffee.

Steady - I *let* bf do all the bike maintenance as well. I can change my tyres, repair a puncture, clean the chain and some other bits but am not really into maintenance. BF is a mechanical engineer so can do the dirty stuff! I'm such a girl!

Went for my 12 mile SLR today was feeling ok sticking to 8k in under 1 hr pace. It's a very undulating run route needed to pop into hotel at 10k was desperate for number 2 so can't do that in hedge anyway decided to increase route the idea being the longer I run out I will have to come back lol. So did 16 miles instead legs were very battered at he end but feel good I did the extra miles. I only managed 1 4 mile run in week so plan has gone straight out window in week one lol

Good luck today MC I'm yet to do a 10k race in under 1hr although never done a straight 10k always done an obstacle race.

well got a pb, but not under an hour 1:06, really chuffed as I have wiped 12 minutes off my 10k time.

ST  - well done on your long run - how long did it take you? Is now a good time to admit that I use hedges for number 2s? sometimes there is just no alternative....

3hrs12 minutes Mc. Not fast but just hoping to beat father in laws time of 6hrs1 for Rutland that he did 3 years ago. Legs feel ok now but they were battered at end of run.

ST - I think that is fast! 3hours for 16 miles? well done

06/10/2012 at 16:26
But still 10 miles to go? And no idea where I'm gonna get an extra 10 miles from?
06/10/2012 at 16:30

06/10/2012 at 17:35

well, I guess you will find them from somewhere, just keep putting one foot in front of another..... that's what I am hoping will happen for me! I am planning on 16 miles tomorrow and 18 next week......it is about a month since I had a long run , oops!

TBH ST, if you're 10 miles away from the finish, and you want that medal/t-shirt/pint, it'll happen! Mainly because you're 10 miles away and you need to get back!

06/10/2012 at 20:27
Well hav 4hrs to do the last 10 miles so hopefully should be enough time
06/10/2012 at 22:07

Well done ST, good run!

Congrats MC for PB! Hey, it was trail run, it's good!

16 miles this morning, struggled probably partly after yesterday's run, partly cos I only slept for 4 hours. did it in 3:26 - well that was the moving time, apparently I spent quite a lot of time doing nothing (well, admiring the sun rise/having various wee stops and chatting to a friend)

quads are a bit tired now!

07/10/2012 at 13:08
MC good running after your 10k race does your watch only record your moving time? You must of gone out early? I went work today legs felt fine this morning
07/10/2012 at 13:11

no, it records elapsed time too, I was just keeping that number to myself

I went out at 5:34, had to be out early so I would be back in time to come to the inlaws with the rest of the family. OH gets a bit sulky if I don't spend the day with them

swimming tonight, just glad we don't use our legs much in front crawl - so long as we aren't working on kicking I'll be ok!

So your running a bit like Eddie Izzard then when he did his Marathonman. Ice cream stop beer stop chat and carry on running lol fair play getting up so early.
