Given the number of people now doing ultras and Triathlons surely RW should expand it's database of training plans and articles to cover these aspects of running?
Come on RW pull your finger out! I'm a tri newbie and I'm having to find other forums/websites (shakes with fear at thought of leaving the warmeth of the RW forums) to get help!!
What do others think?

true benz but, for example, if they recommend 20m for a 1st time mara then surely there must be suggestions like that for an ultra? what about fuel? walk/run tactics etc

I can see no reason why they should have traithlon plans. It's a running magazine. There are plenty of plans around and anyway these are just guides.

I dont think that RW should really go down this route.
It should stick to its core subject and if you want tri advice go to a tri specific site (of which there are loads)

so TT where would you send a newbie then???
I can't see why they shouldn't seeing as there is still a large running element and they do have a forum for it! and then there is the Pirates!

I agree with Gumps - leave RW to the runners - but thank them for having this oddball forum where a lot of us live

I think they should have Modern Pentathlon training plans as there is a large running element.

Tripetalk is just that EP - full of nerdy triathletes talking out of their bums about training.........this forum is full of runners having a larf at triathlon without been too serious (with a few exceptions) like the TT lot - fine people as many of them are.........(and a few of us also inhabit that from time to time)

I think you could maybe have an idiots training guide for first sprint. But there are also so many variables. For example Alice has never run before but is a good swimmer planning on doing a super sprint versus Oxy who is fat and unfit and wants to do an Ironman.............
