This may be a silly question, but are there tri suits you can wear to cycle and run?
Are these different to the wetsuits?

Yep, there are tri suits and tri tops and bottoms, which you wear under your wetsuit. It's not essential to wear one but they are more comfortable as they dry quickly and have a padded bit for the bike.

Tri suits are much more comfortable to wear under your suit than anything ive ever tried!

Ironman have a good range of Women specific suits

Thanks DD. I didn't think I'd manage to fit a baggy t-shirt and shorts underneath one a wetsuit!!

btw - you can look for a second hand wetsuit on the Triathletes Uk website - least I think it's there - they have a smallads section.

Just ordered a tri wetsuit from tri and run in the sale - £100.
I hope this is a bargain.
And that it fits...

Thats a bargain!!

If its a Quintanna Roo wetsuit and they asked for your height, weight ect then it will fit!!

Yes it's Quintanna Roo - have no idea which model it is though but I imagine I have saved a few quid.
I haven't weighed myself for ages so I gave them a slightly optimistic figure! But I suppose I've got a few months to squidge into it if it's too tight. And with the amount of training I am doing I am not going to get any fatter.
How reliable a guide is weight when muscle weighs more than fat anyway?? Surely measurements are a safer bet?!

On a more positive note I went swimming for first time in ages and 750 metres without stopping wasn't too bad. Now I just have to do it fast :-)

Hooray the wetsuit has arrived and it fits! That's presuming it's meant to feel quite tight!

Its needs to be a very good fit though not restrictive.

They feel much more comfortable when they are wet!

And much easier to get off!!!

Getting it off wasn't so much a problem as getting it on in the first place!!
It seemed reasonably roomy in the shoulders. Only way to tell will be to take it on a maiden voyage!

Good point. Think I will leave the wetsuit training for a few weeks. Possibly even until I find out whether I succeed in the ballot
