Video Swim Analysis

Perhaps I'll get an answer this time if I start a thread on it!

Video analysis is the best thing to happen to my swim technique in a long time allows me to see with a coach exactly where im going wrong. You might be lucky and be able to find a triathlon club like the one i am a member of that offers club members video analysis sessions and coaching, as we have several coaches in the club and own the required underwater video kit.

I had a training session with Robin Brew once and that was really good.
However, the time per person was not high, but I got extra time at the end to help with my Uni swimming :-)

We've got video swim analysis with our tri club in a couple of weeks so I'll let you know how it goes. It ain't exactly gonna be like watching an episode of Flipper. More like Titanic I think.

Thats a co-incidence so have we I'm assisting at a video swim session with our tri club coaches in a few weeks.

I guess it's a good time of year to do it -plenty of time to correct any faults before next season starts.

Ed m,

Sorry cant rent or loan the gear out but for any club interested can be bought at reasonable cost on the high street. We use a Sony DV camcorder with underwater sports housing then all you need is someone to sit on the bottom of the pool for a few hours to operate it.

Ed m,

Funny you should mention Scuba but thats exactly how i do it with a scuba tank and weight belt so i can move about the pool with the athlete being analysed

ed m,

We just hire the scuba stuff from a local dive shop when we need it and it really doesnt cost a great deal for a few hours especially this time of year when not too many people are diving.
