60 mile ride today on part of the IMKY course.  I can feel my fitness improving almost daily.  Awesome!  It was my mate's longest ride ever.  Forgot about that word hahaha

I'm thinking of taking Adriana out for her first spin I'm very nervous since pedals and me are still very much a worry but got to try!

Adriana? Cycle or wife? (You'll notice I avoided 'bike or wife' )

I'm sure the prospect of 8 hours on her will have you desperate to do IM

Well I really enjoyed it, woke up late so didn't have time for more - what a difference riding a race bike

Good stuff.  Numb bum?  How did you find the climbs?

What's replacing those 857 calories?

Am planning a confidence re-building ride on Tuesday. Forecast says it should be sunny and dry with very little wind - keep everything crossed!

Climbs, really only one is a bit of monster (realitively speaking for a newbie) and it did really drain me, I think it was around mile 5 or 6 - what worries me is that I won't be able to get enough hills in over the next year, plenty of time to think about though

Calorie expenditure, I'm eating like a horse at the moment which is killing all the calories being burnt, I need to eat less! Otherwise i'm never going to become a racing snake!

I will keep evrything crossed for sure! I can't wait to get back out for a decent ride again, but I really need to take it easy this week, so will reign myself in

Don't eat less - carb load like there's no tomorrow!

Any pedal unclipping cock-ups?

21/05/2012 at 00:31
Thank god no pedal cock ups, f'ing car pulled out from side road when I was doing north of 25mph, that was a little heart stopping - but otherwise good

Must eat less can't afford your and every other 20 stone 6'3" butt beating me - just been watching IMUK on the active channel from a few years back and we definitely can do this, not sure lanza can be my first though, too many complications

Would love to do Florida but I'm too impatient to wait that long, decisions decisions, Sweden is supposed to be a nice course and apparently the Germans are amazing...

Would you settle for Outlaw 2013?

21/05/2012 at 00:44

We really can do it, can't we? Can we?

So, just out of interest, can I have a list of those of us popping their iron cherry next year?

It's all about choices for your calories. I've found that the best strategy is to plan a post workout snack BEFORE you leave.  Otherwise, you'll be sticking your hand in every open bag of chips (yeah yeah crisps) that you see.

I personally have a new diet plan.  I just upgraded my wheels and they have a 225 pound weight limit and I'm currently about 220.  (From a high of 279.)

What time is it with you, IY?

Good diet plan - wheels!
