Have cycled twice since Outlaw and swum 3 maybe 4 times and run 4-5 times so that must be training enough!

Yeah the haribos go me yesterday I think I am okay on the swim (aka will get around without drowning and probably within the hour or 50 mins), hoping the bike will take care of itself and running well I can run but a snail might beat me.

How do you guys do nutrition on the run? I need to get that sorted as Monday nights efforts show'd a bottle of carb drink and a gel aren't enough

they have drinks at each end of the run Buttercup which is cups of high5/sis plus bananas and gels

on the bike there was a table in a layby (about a mile from the park just before the short/steep down to the A444) which also had drinks/water etc

by the time you get to the run you may not want any sports stuff! I know I tried a banana as I couldn't face a gel and it worked!

Buttercup if you make sure you sort yourself out on the bike nutrition for the run won’t be a big thing. Normally I stick some jelly babies/chocolate in my back pocket just in case. I think they will have some fodder at the feed station for the run but don’t quote me on that I’ve slept since last year and very forgetful in my old age. I wouldn’t try something new food wise through on the day so if you have never used gel’s I would be careful about using them. If you struggle mind you are going to have a few people throwing fruit/sweet’s at you.

Buttercup they sent an email about stuff they will be handing out as ep says it's in a layby on the bike  Lol. Not many stopped last year I did on every lap. I have started making my own energy bars from a recipe in one of the tri mags. They are really tasty and I trough them on and off the bike lol. The high 5 energy bars are nice too. I don't get on with gels at all as they upset my tummy .

I'm fine with nutrition on the bike - it goes like this: real food (banana or nakd bar) + drink (high5 4:1, plus some electrotabs), gel + drink, real food + drink every 20 minutes which works fine with me.  If it's really hot I drink every 15mins give or take.

It was more timing of the gels on the run and do I stuff race belt with my nakd bars in there as well?  Is every 20 mins on the run good? I haven't ran 21k before so it's all new territory

you may find it's just as case of see what happens.

I stopped each lap of the bike last year for a fresh drink and ate 1 mini malt loaf per lap too

the run was err whatever! There does come a point when the body just says NO to sweet stuff hence the banana. Having said that I will get some Percy Pigs if  can seeing as they are so lovely!! They worked in IM training as I looked forward to having them whereas with the gels I just said no

Lol I still have 2 weeks pixie. There are points on the run where you get refreshments. I tend to leave it until I reach one of those points. The run is fairly steep . I spent most of last year strolling it with another person who looked equally knackered as I did. I even stopped for a wee wee.

I've just entered this - need to get my teeth into something again after Bolton. I'm guessing I won't be able to squeeze in much sandbagging at the moment though.... .

Lol I see we are all doing well It seems to have snook up all of a sudden. I have a sore foot from slipping on shoes someone left on the stairs and bouncing down on my butt for 10 steps and crashing my heel into the wall.
