Cant see it makes much difference to me - not read their email mind you - lifes too short for emails.

I've got into IMDE 3 times now without a problem and thats meant to be one of the more popular races in Europe -I wasnt planning on racing in the US anyway.

Triathletes are known for their extravagant spending, if WTC gives you a carbon fibre or Titanium membership card - then they will sell out.

What kind of bell end would want to spend £500 or so on doing a "triathlon" anyway?  You could get some Salomon Impact 10s and a pair of X Wings to go with them for that price!

The next "M Branded" tri suits will have a special little pocket to hold your credit card so you can pay for your Feed Station drinks as you go along.

Love that one on FB

I liked that one too Dave and the guy who asked if Rolex was now the main sponsor of Ironman.

I wonder if all the people who are saying they'll never do an Ironman will actually stay true to that though.

I'm very close to entering another one...............a couple of drinks this weekend and i'm sure i will be able to get his credit card............

I don't like the new policy but on its own it wouldn't affect my decision whether to enter a race or not...........

Been reading this thread ( I'm just a novice who can't even imagine doing iron distance btw) and it's all money money money with the ironman brand and I just wondered why they have the monopoly ? In most sports there are a few major competitors for the big events and I was just curious if this is the case for long distance events or is it just the m-dot brand that is recognised for the world elites ?

WOW.that is a very quick u turn.....nice to hear that they are listening

They had no choice Seren. Their reasoning sounds lame and most of the comments on FB say the same. Sure there must be some problem with people doing multiple-entries but they must resell some of those places at least.

All that said, it's a great example of the power of social media at work.

I love the power of twitter, facebook etc to fuck up the corporate machine. WTC must be spitting to lose such a colossal new revenue stream. What will they come up next?

Sent the E-mail to my brother  in Aus, he hadn't heard anything about it , but he does now  and he is pissed with WTC because he has spends a lots of money with them (came over for IMUK this year and he's doing WAIM in December ) because they are trying to make it a rich persons sport. After this he is thinking of entering non IM events.
