hi all,
My friend and I will be running from Bristol to Reading along the Kennet and Avon canal towpaths (85+)miles, this would be our first long distance run done over consecutive days(less marathons. We plan to do it over 3 days doing 28 miles a day. But the problem is we have the enthusiam to do it but the planning expertise to make it reality, a few friends have said that they would like to do support team (set up tents at suitable places for overnught stops, replen us with water etc en-route. If anyone has any plannnig guides, advice etc please reply or email me. it will be greatly appriacted by us and you will get a mention when we complete it and write our story to runnersworld.

Thanks in advance
Rob and Nick

sounds like a fun jaunt...

if you're not carrying any kit you just need to make sure your support is in place at the right time and take it easy!

can't imagine any other major problems so long as you can find accomodation at the right points.

training wise i'd imagine build to a few longer than usual mileage weeks, and do a few longish runs on consecutive days.

any specific input you're after?

thanks Ed,
I was looking for a planning guide (i.e) something like a plan people follow for planning their wedding, if that makes sense, suppose something like a checklist
so we dont miss anything out of the preperation (we are happy with the actual training) then find out that 25 miles down the towpath SH*t we forgot to do that.

also we would like to do it for charity, but we would like to try and raise some serious money, si if any of you big money raisers can give us ome tips that would also be really helpful
thanks in advance

Rob,
I have a kit list (XL spreadsheet) which is originally for the KIMM, it might not give you everything you need, but it could be a starter.
give me you email address, and i will send it.

Rob,
When I did the WHW I got permission from my local Safeways to stand in the foyer collecting (for Cancer Research). Got about £200 in 3 hours and had to stop because my collecting tim was full.
