chav - a question. do you reckon the 30miler would be a good warm up for the Brecon Ultra (45miles)?

Beachy head double would be

i think it might be, you know it's an all-nighter?

it would certainly be a 6-8 hour session given the terrain, and you like mountaineering anyway don't you?

it's the week after the JW though...

BH would be fine Smiffy but I can do that more or less anytime as it's on the doorstep - was looking at the overnight 30 more as a case of mental approach than anything else but as Chav says, it's a week after JW so not sure of the legs will be up to it. it's EOD anyway so not as if I need to get an entry in.....will think on

this sounds good - an opportunity to try out a head torch AND see a fight
11/08/2009 at 11:16
you don't need a head torch, it's a full moon

Have decided to enter the Midnight 30.

Rude not to seeing as the CC is on my doorstep - gives me plenly of time to get used to the terrain & conditions including a few shorter night runs.

I did wander around the course last year when the event was on.

I`ve sorted the head torch department out (tikka +) & seen Henk`s comments ref spares but it`s the jacket department I`m a bit unsure of - any recommendations?

Have looked on PlanetFear

Mr K - it was right awful weather last year, rain, windy on the top of the camp, i think i was fine with a ron hill jacket that was a few years old. it was fairly warm though

TMW - Thanks. I was over there last night - views were good at the `lookout` point - it`s a shame I will not see `anything` except my feet during this one.

you might... it's a full moon and it will be light before 7am - it's not  a quick course, 2 hour laps at night will be good going

not long to go now...

I am getting concerned about the playlist...please tell me you don`t hear that all night.

henk doesn't encourage you to hang around long at his checkpoint... i think the music is part of this...
