Worth the wait from Henk - lovely e-mail. I`m pumped up out now.
Not looking forward to tomorrow at the moment - feel completely knackered! Hopefully it's just a reflection of nerves and 3 days no exercise. Not in the ideal mental place at the moment
At least the forecast says dry tomorrow But then raining Sunday morning, early Could always be wrong though...
Rain I can live with - strong winds I hate as they really sap your energy
It is also forecast to be relatively mild which should mean not too many layers even during the night
Quick kit question - is it worth packing waterproof trousers? I've never run in them, and I can't find them - so I'm thinking no... Any views?
if you can't find them, don't pack them
I'm taking mine in case I get reduced to a shambling walk in freezing rain. In all other cases not worth it
Sorry, I seem to be double posting for some reason
Anyone feeling positive?
Yep ... Will see how long for though!
Drinking the night before a race are we?
Just enough to numb the pain...
good luck to you all (runners & organisers) I ran this in 2008 with a mate who is no longer with us, just remenising now of how scared we were but boy how we enjoyed it, remember the pain is only whilst the race is on but the memories last a lifetime. have a great weekend hope you all acheive your goals.
Will join fat paul in that one. Good luck to all running this weekend. Should have been with you all but alas injury got in the way. The wife is still running and so if you see a chick in purple compression calf guards then please tell her to get a move on There is lots of great support going to be there and so hope that is enough to get you all through.
I hope WiB managed to get through with a decent time and the win. And all the best to veggieboy and others through the night. It wasn't as mucky as we were expecting but after several laps and the (current) rain, I wouldnt want to be out there!
Had to pull put after the second lap as the scar was being pulled and getting increasinlgy painful. Bit frustrating but expected.
