Hey, since going out of physio 2 years ago, I've began trying to get myself in shape in addition to looking for an enjoyable physical activity. I've been running for a while now but one day I thought that marathons seem to have become less attractive to me.
As a result, I thought it would be interesting to set up my own marathon in Belfast, Northern Ireland. As a runner, I wanted an obstacle, something to give me a satisfying challenge. So I came up with DASH OF THE TITANS - a 10k obstacle marathon that not only provides a satisfying run, but also includes several obstacles including water, climbing, crawling, mental etc. to add a new sense of fun and challenge to the everyday run.
This is my second year organising it and we hope to expand upon the traditional marathon by implementing more terrains and obstacles to add some excitement.
If your curious to see my first attempt, here's a link to the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBhVPqsSwUw
This year, I hope to develop a bigger, better and bolder experience. It's a very accessible course so it's open to anyone above the age of 14. It's a charity event so you can come as an individual, trio or group and raise money for a charity or organisation of you choice. It's in Belfast at Titanic Quarter on 8th June 2013!
I'd like to invite you to check out our website to learn more and maybe I'll see you on the course!
