James, that is a great review and a splendid time.
Bill, you may be 11 years older than me, but it looks like you will be well ahead of me based on that time prediction.
I struggled around the Grantham ultra over the weekend, 2 days of 29 mile each, in 4:47 and 5:14, and that was flat and in good weather.
I'm starting to get scared now

Hi Ian

Maybe I am over optimistic on my time,I am around the 6hr + mark for a 31.5 mile normal so I was thinking 4/5 hours for the last 18miles, I am a steady plodder. Well done on your Grantham times, I think you should be in before me, One of my big worries is getting lost in the dark, though I am told the markings are very good, you can lose a lot of time if you get lost.

Have you got your email today ? Looks like we get an extra drinks stop (no food, water only) at 45K. That seems like a good thing to me.

Good luck to you all, I am quite jealous

2 years ago was hot and a lot of people ran out of water between the first 2 CPs, looks like they have added an extra CP with just water at 45km whcih is good.

How did you go on, it was tougher than I thought ,so was really pleased with my time I think I was 11.38 hrs,not got offical time yet, nice to see you at the start.

very well done.
I had a bad one and pulled out at 45 k at 6:20. My achilles (a chronic problem) was giving me a lot of trouble and I just ran out of steam. I think the 2x29milers a fortnight earlier was just too much. Great event though and I may well go back and have another crack at it.

Sorry to hear that, I left that staion at seven and as it got dark I got into a good pace and only had one mishap after leaving Chaville I had a bad fall and really hurt my shoulder but luckly it did not slow me down.
