Darren-Thanks, I'll have a look at that. I've found loads of helpful stuff on the fra website. Hoping to arrange a small midweek summer fell series next year in the Midlands.

What is the general feeling about racing on a Friday evening? (Wednesday nights are pretty busy already with races)

Friday's not a bad night but the commuter traffic on the M6 that time of night could be problem?
07/09/2006 at 22:42
DH - I believe Matt's looking at Clent Hills, down near Halesowen.

I think Emmilou's right about the traffic....it would definitely stop folks coming along if they have to negotiate the M6 on a Friday evening!!! Question is whether it's a big enough catchment area within main part of central and west Birmingham area

I'm qiute happy for it to be a small event, especially to begin with.
M6 is bad any weekday evening isn't it?

Matt - I reckon that Friday night would be ok, quite good in terms of a 'social' night to race.

Reckon you should attract the same crowd as the other races round there e.g. the Hillock, Cobra Classic and maybe even the Wyre Forest races, and the Worcs MT Series. There should be plenty of takers.

Good luck ... I'd be there!!

Just a thought though - not too early, because of the motorway traffic. I've really struggled to get to events such as DK10K on time - a running start, straight through from the car park! :-)

Stretton Skyline on Sunday.....distance now revised to 19 miles!! Apparently it always was but someone ran it with a garmin thingy for the first time so accurately measured it!

Should be at the Stretton Skyline on Sunday.

We've got 3 Beanies running - Evil Rich, not pete and Ultra Minnie. Me and Running Caz will be cheering. Should be a good day out - not pete's and Ultra Minnie's fell-running debuts :-)

GOOD LUCK all Skyliners!!

My feet are now in pieces, but it was fun.

Good to bump into Caz and UMinnie and meet Juicer. Sorry I missed Rich and not pete.

Well done Matt on 4th position!! Your feet deserve to be in pieces :-)

Well done too to Evil Rich, notpete and Ultra Minnie - UltraM commented after that it was harder than the Dartmoor Ultra she did recently.

Me and Caz had great fun supporting, and giggling at the expressions of pain on our friends faces at the end ;-)

Thanks Juicer :-) but not really "well done" to me! Decided to retire at the Lawley having felt dreadful up Ragleth and Caradoc. It's a case of too many long races in too short a period I think (hope!)!

Well done MtB on a great position. And major well done to Notpete and UM for finishing such a tough race - look forward to seeing both of you at future fell races :-)

Right, lets see if we can get these legs back to full strength in time for Langdale.

I only realised today that there were prizes for the first 5 males, I left before the presentations :(

Matt, I think they'll send it to you....although RC did suggest taking a bottle of wine on your behalf, don't think you would have seen much of it though! :-)
