Hi and thanks for the replies. I got myself a bag and will of course be taking some water and food and other essentials, I just want to keep it to a min due to the weight. I can wait now get going. Im sure its going to hurt like hell but still..
I am doing it with two mates and we plan to try and help each other out as much as possible.
Did you take 2 pairs of shoes?? or did someone carry a spare set and meet you somewhere? I Its just that I hadn't thought of doing that. Was going to take spare socks an t shirt just in case weather is truly pants! I will be starting in my trusty Newtons, guess ill chuck them after the race anyway as they are getting on a bit.
Cheers again and maybe see you there.

if you have a support crew you can take spare everything.
I think you are better off wearing trail shoes. I have been along the Thames near the start and it is a bit loose underfoot. Whatever you wear on your feet will be covered in mud before too long.
