And doooon soooth someone is organising a Kent ultra this autumn. I suspect the scenery won't be too dramatic but its nice to have something on the doorstep to try out!

It's in the Blairgowrie area - about 20 miles northish of Perth.  A lovely part of the country.

Just turn up and run 53 miles - maybe not.  I'm in the 8am start so only have 13 hours to complete - I guess that doesn't leave too much spare time for walking / lying down en route.

Last year on the Fling I was so enamoured by the tranquility of the loch that I went out and bought myself a canoe - it's quite tempting to not run and instead spend the day paddling up and down the section north of Inversnaid just watching the race...

cheers alibj

it'll feel like im being hunted down by whippets having started an hour earlier than you guys..we should have a tote as to the point at which you'll pass me!

I think I'm an hour earlier than you CD so I'll be even more pursued! Oh well will give me a chance to say hello to everyone!

We're all on the verge of giving our ages away here.

19/01/2010 at 20:38
All I know is I will be chasing the females.  I'm not so interested in the supervet men.
19/01/2010 at 21:13

I'll be chasing everyone except the relay teams.

They're not my type.

t rex..be careful chasing girls they're nowt but bother  and can land you in excessively hot water
20/01/2010 at 10:09

Thanks for wise advice, CD.  I've got a feeling you're right.

Loon Dod - are you all set up for your WHW run on Saturday?  How's the weather where you are?  Down south all our snow has melted  but some more seems to be falling at the moment .

20/01/2010 at 10:17

I'm off to Benfleet 15 in Essex this weekend. It has a reputation for being ridiculously muddy and given the forecast is for three days rain here, Sunday should be more of a wade than a run. Will be good to get to a race again though - seems like ages!

20/01/2010 at 10:19
bp - have you done belper or white peak?
20/01/2010 at 10:50
I've done White Peak a couple of times - got my marathon PB on that course! Lovely run. I think I was last there in 08? I know they had a beer fest on after the run which was great fun! Haven't done belper though.

Nothing to say, just bumping the spam

how queer
07/02/2010 at 13:17

I haven't had much to say recently either.  Perhaps I should have bumped the spam.

Not sure I'd know how to.

07/02/2010 at 22:09

I try not to have anything to do with spam.

Have we all entered, yet?  Must say I still haven't.  I'm going to have a mammoth race-entering session tomorrow.  With this one there doesn't seem to be an entry limit except for relays.

08/02/2010 at 12:11
So far I've entered this and the Cateran Trail ultra.  Going to enter the Speyside Way race (August) in the next week or so, then have a rest.
09/02/2010 at 12:40

Yeah I've got Jurassic then this. Then I'm not sure. Thinking about doing Dartmoor Mountain Marathon in the summer but currently too scared to enter! Then the question is whether to do another of the Votwo coastals in the winter or maybe druid ridgeway. Then a 50 or something similar in Jan 2011...then off to the desert.

Oh dear.

09/02/2010 at 12:44

oh I have a question (I always have questions!). I'm doing the punchbowl 30 this weekend...for which I am a bit concerned as its self navigation... So do I treat this week as a mini taper or bang the mileage in or somewhere in between. I'm sort of carrying on regardless at the moment but am worried I might then conk out somewhere in Surrey on Sunday and not make the finish line.
