Did TR24 solo this year, it's awesome. I clocked each lap at 6.5 miles so just over 10k (seems pedantic to mention the .3 of a mile but when you mutiply your laps up to total miles covered .....)
The route was a mix of field, path and forest trail which weaves in and out of the camping area and crossed a ridge a few times each lap all of which combined to just about keep the route interesting in spite of the multiple loops. The forest trail in parts was rocky, rooty and twisty which made it frickin great fun in the dark.. My Garmin clocked 9000ft of climb over the 150KM I covered.
Lived up to its reputation as having a festival vibe. The support given to solo runners is superb.
A few of the 'competitive' runners from large teams who barged past me with disdain that suggested having to wait to pass was a close second to slipping in a cow pat and managing a full body roll in a shoulder high nettles did invite an 'ankle tap' or two; thankfully the support recieved as a solo runner kept my darker urges at bay.
I enjoyed the heck out of it and will indeed be back next year.
