Morning Bear. Looking forward to seeing you later
phew - that was harder than I thought! hilly and very very muddy in places ran with 6.5kg pack on the saturday and felt fine.....reduced it to 2kg on the sunday and was knackered.....go figure still....all done, despite getting lost three times on the second day which cost me 40 minutes...grrrr.... great race....lots of fellow MDS'ers there to talk to and some gorgeous scenery.....
I had to pull out at first aid station. Hip/back issue spread to hamstring and then bang, full-on cramp in camp that reduced me to a limp at 5miles. Tried to run through it to the 8M mark but it wasn't good. But hey, gave it a shot and was running ok.
Great spirit out there, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves in the mud. Although I didnt get to see the 33mile faces!
Really sorry bout that Daz. Congratulations for giving it your best shot. The 33 mile faces were a bit - I found I had mud in my earphones even though I hadn't fallen over (surprisingly enough)!
hopetofinish - lovely to meet up with you again. Hope you got home ok and there was some pizza left.
Hope to see some familiar faces at the next event .
yeah yeah....its called ear wax!
Wot - greyish, crumbly and on the outside of the earpieces??
my 33 mile face was ok......the 66 mile face not so much
Sorry to hear that Daz
