oh. Where are you?

Not done a 100 miler before. Nearest is 95 miler which have done twice. Strange distance 95 for a race but is what it is. 4500 m of ascent though which is probably more than the TP100 has?

Anyone want to do recce of the Oxford end in the autumn. See what part of the night section might be like? May be a 40 miler? Where would that start?

Missed my outdoor session today. Pollution too bad so went to gym. Bored after 4 miles so went for a beer!

Afternoon - just had a job-jogging session today to loosen up after yesterday. Did 3.75miles in all. Calves tight today

How's everyone today?

Ice for slightly tight shoulders probably due to the rucksack yesterday. Other than that, legs feel good! No running today, but IL so a few strength and balancing exercises tonight. Just been checking out some Salomon crossfire shoes that look very tempting!

Andy - I feel I am not even getting close to some of the distances that some of you guys are doing. I am building up slowly after an ankle injury so I'd rather go for consistency at this point and build up slowly.

How are you today?

Hi Mr F - have a good stretch to ease those shoulders - and stretch out your chest muscles too!

I'm agreed that a recce is I order before march, maybe te last 40 miles?
07/07/2011 at 15:45
Shan't over stretch the chest too much, might look like a scene from Carry on Camping!!

Vixx your doin the best thing, by holdin yourself back. i know its not untill march but i`m just "makin hay while the sun shines" as they say.

i`m feelin recovered now from my walk. so am giong to try an blast this trail race tonight. eeeek.

MR F hope the streching sorts you out.

Hi All,

Well done for signing up Jelly baby, I'm also a first timer.

Hillheader, sounds like you get about a bit, must help with adapting to all sorts of race day conditions.

Glad you had a great run Mr F - what type of back pack do you use?  I've never really run with a pack before but I guess it's something I'll have to invest in soon.  The most I've ever run with is one of those mesh swim type bags to bring my work clothes home in.

Good luck with your race Andy.

I enjoyed my race last night.  It was quite hilly so a good mid week work out. I was 30 seconds quicker than last year, so I'm happy enough with that.  It also rained, which is my favourite running weather, so all in all it was an enjoyable evening.  Just swimming for me today, with an extended run to work and cycle home tomorrow.

KP, I currently run with an inov8 race pro 12 sack. This is a really lightweight pck with the internal 2l bladder and really good storage. The good thing about the inov8 bladders is that they are built into the lower back and waist strap which provides good lumbar suppurt plus as its not attached to your back it doesn't bounce up and down. Also one of the more reasonably priced too!
