Andrew uk can you pm me the gpx file also thanks

How do you get a gpx file onto a Garmin (running watch)? If anyone can give me instructions, I'd be grateful. Previously the only info I've been given is "via Garmin Connnect" - but I can't find anywhere in Garmin Connect to upload a route, never mind download it again!

I have a suunto sorry can't help with garmin

Debra once I've got the run in, you just click send to watch. There is an upload option somewhere. Let me look.

Which garmin have you got also?

Debra, there's an "upload" button in the top-right of the screen, If you click that there's a "manual upload" button which allows you to browse to the file on your computer!

Once it's on Garmin Connect, when you look at the route / activity you should see a option called "Send To Device" on the menu bar, (above the map). Click that and it should automatically send it to your Garmin the next time it syncs.

If anyone has uploaded it to Garmin Connect, could you "unlock" it and post a link to the route please? If someone sends the gpx to me I'll see if I can do this later on today!

Here's my take on a google maps version to check point 4. Definitely some guesswork involved in a couple of places but for those relying on their phones it may be of some use ...

good luck everyone for tomorrow don't like the look of the route 50 miles of road is going to hurt but at least it's on. I reccied a stretch last weekend for tp100 and it was hard going in places so after this rain this week would have been unrunable. look forward to reading your race reports.

Keep your spirits up guys!

A 50 mile race in early Feb was always going to bring some epic challenges with weather or wet or cold....

Julian, I loved your list a few posts back - thats me, except I am injured and cant run...

Larny, I am so sorry you cant make it - any other planned race or event to take the sting out?

I will be at the start and finish - should be wearing a long bright orange and red scarf and a blue wooly hat unless it it hot (ha ha) - please wave and say hi - I will also be the one smiling at you and cheering you on !

best of british to you all tomorrow

PS If anyone in Oxford wants a lift to the start I will be driving from North jericho to Iffley to arrive by 7am and could pick up.  PM me if you are interested.

Ditto a lift back to Oxford from the finish.... I will prob stay at the finish until about 7pm.

Anyone got the gpx track loaded yet on Garmin connect? Nothing back from Andrew and just about to leave to travel down.
01/02/2013 at 12:20

I'm in the process of tip-exing out my notes from original route and adding the new ones to my map.    Good luck everyone!

Thanks Andrew UK, got the file. Best of luck to all in the race!

If you are uploading to garmin you need the crs file or a converter.

Sorry I was trying to forward the attachment from my phone at work. Will send again.

thanks. Haven't got it on my watch yet but looks okay on my phone.

I'll take what the day throws at me I'm just looking at it as an adventure / day out too...

Road, off road, longer, shorter, just gotta get from the start to the finish without getting too lost and possibly in the light...

We're all in the same race, so would be good to team up once the pacing has evened out...

Race organisers are doing a good job just to keep the event on!

Anyone not got the emails pm me again as I'm not sure who got them and who didin't.

I have the crs file also to upload to garmin if required.

Good luck everyone. I'll be at the back going very slowly and enjoying the sunshine!

01/02/2013 at 13:33

Good luck Andrew.

Could u possibly pm me the gpx route file too just in case, i'll try n get on me phone as a back up...

01/02/2013 at 14:01

Tried to upload a .gpx file as instructed (somehow previously failed to see that upload button) but either it hasn't worked or it's not showing - I can't see it anywhere - I've looked in Plan/Courses and in Explore/Courses and it's not showing up in either of those.

So, I guess it will be down to instructions, map sections printed from the internet, and guesswork.

If I get lost at least I might reach the 50, and if I reach the finish and have NOT done 50, I can register then turn around and head out again for however long I need to to reach the 50...
