Hadrian's Wall Race Carlisle:Newcastle
Training plan? Now you tell me.
This will be 19 miles of unknown for me. I have to pack tonight, as we're driving up to Carlisle tomorrow evening. Anyone else around on the Friday, I'll be playing the spot the ultra-runner around the town.
I guess we'll all be around on the Friday I'll be there around midday hunting for weekend parking and will be staying in the local travelodge, I'm told there is a decent Italian within a couple of hundred yards so that will do me nicely
I think I'm at the Ibis, not sure if there'll be enough room for my kit.
I'm staying at the Ibis, and will be there tomorrow evening from about 7. Hopefully I can hook up with a few of you ?
I'll be in the Ibis too. Will be there friday.
Unfortunately Carl - regarding the Floral Mac, my daughter has kindly found me a similar one in Black, I'll be traveling up alone, if anyone else is, and fancies meeting up, shout up, I'm sure Carlisle can't be that big a place
we're in the Travelodge in Carlisle, about a mile from the castle I think. Will be looking for somewhere to eat Friday night so we might see some of you out and about!
We did our last gentle 5 miles last night and were buzzing - can't wait to get going. Packing still worrying me slightly but will have a trial run tonight and then hopefully I will feel better about it.
Strewth, I think the run might be easier than the packing, I hit the wall ages ago.
Just noticed that the Ibis hotel is next to a night-club, oh joy.
Tapir mood swings in effect.
packing a nightmare 2 empty bags tent sleeping bag trainers etc all over floor getting withdraws had no pasta yet hot sweats, think leave it tomorrow night.wots it all about...
Last run for me will be Thursday evening, a slow 10k, so far this week I've put all my miles in using the bike, seems to give my legs a new lease of life.
Am I the only one struggling to fit a sleeping bag, kit etc... into a 65 litre bag?
good luck everyone...........i await the race reports when you return..........hope you get a good race for the money
take care and enjoy
put all my stuff on the bed last night and measured it up against the 65L pack. Gawd knows how that's going to work - might get the kit in but the sleeping bag's a definite no no. And that's before we even Start on the food .............
