Going ultra
It is very easy to go mad obsessing about the details in a first ultra. The best thing at this stage is to put it all on the back burner and worry about getting the right food inside you today (just eat everything carb based you can get your hands on).
It is always hard to get a good nights sleep the night before an ultra, and many people don't even try. Don't worry about it. As long as you got some kind of nights sleep last night it really won't make any difference.
This is undoubtedly a tough event, but it has a very liberal time limit to bail you out if you hit trouble. You have 26 hours to cover 68 miles compared to 12 hours to cover 56 miles at Comrades.
Its all going to pay off when you come in under the Millennium Bridge, and that finishing medal gos round your neck!
