Fire and Ice Ultra

am almost tempted myself for 2013

but if you want a shorter one - Vercors Ultratrail at 85km - same weekend as TdG. I've cross country skied at Autrans where this is based - lovely part of France and not far from Grenoble for flights.

it's part of the Raidlight series - all the events are listed on this page

in fact there's a nice big list of (mainly) French ultras on the right of this page

Thanks FB - yes, the Iceland one looks great, but a bit too far afield and expensive for this year.

Will check out the French ones - fancy the Grand Raid Pyrenees some time ?next year

Just had a good look at those, like Rich the Iceland trip is a little too expensive for me too, looks fantastic though and it is put on by Likeys who I do like to support.

Grand Raid Pyrennees would fit well but it's at the wrong time of year and the Vercors run looks gorgeous but a little too short for what I was looking for.

Back to the drawing board then....

Lirish - did you bother going on waiting list for this? If so have you had any confirmation etc - I think I entered the WL but my Italian isn't exactly fluent!

I tried but much like you I guess I'm not sure I actually did get on. I certainly haven't had an e mail from them saying so. I did e mail them telling them I continually tried to get access but just kept getting a loading screen. They essentially said tough shit

Bloody hell there's over 550 people on the waiting list!

I'm on there but at over 120 places from the front I won't hold my breath, I'll make other plans just in case I don't make it. Have you had a look at the winter 100 from James Elson Rich?
