the last one was in 2005.  the first time i ran it was in 1993 and then again in 1995 and then in 2002 that was when it started in Dunfermline at pittencrieff park and headed out to the kincardine bridge via crossford ,cairnyhill, torryburn, culross then over the KB then heading towards Bo'ness then over the FB. the first time i ran it you went through inverkeithing and into rosyth and it was that way for a good while but the third time i ran it when you came of the bridge you went along ferrytoll road and back up to the finish at the civil service club. they changed the route in 2003 due to safety and it seemed to be fine but not long after the 2005 race had finished about 2 months after i found out that it was not going to be continued which is a shame because it was in my top 5 races

ironman training

ie rather less running.

seen the training weekend, looks a bit hardcore for me at present. need to recharge my batteries, and perhaps spend more than 5minutes with the wife.

Good luck  with the IM Ed,

would love to do one some day, just need to learn to swim more than 2 lengths and stop falling off bikes (been a habit since I was about 10 yrs old)

remember though, no need to come up with excuses just because you dont fancy letting me have that re-match

not sure there'll be a rematch at present.... too long a list of other challenges
