I will probably be back next year, assuming that the event takes place again.
I cannot speak about the Spine, but I know a couple of Thames Ring finishers who found the Viking Way to be the harder event.

When myself and some of the other casualties were lying in the meat wagon in our sleeping bags, trying to get our core temperatures stabilised, what came over on the radio but Toy Soldiers by Eminem!

Sorry to hear that you didn't finish the race but it was exceptional tough conditions this year on top of a tough race and once hypothermia sets in the body struggles to recover. Well done for getting to the start line, hat off to you. Next time I have no doubt you will finish

Unlucky Ben.. A very tough event I know a couple of Thames finishers who vouch that this one is harder.
2 friends of mine took this one on and managed 140miles only to be defeated by navigational errors
