funny...but true!

WiB: well done! -and Rosemary too! I heard the hill really was a Beast from a club member who ran that on Saturday and still completed our club's Switchback 5 (miles, cross-country) yesterday). She was finding the downhills hard going yesterday!

I managed to run the Switchback course early yesterday evening as part of an 11 mile run (after 21 on Saturday). I'd have loved to have raced it but was helping manage it instead.

Must do more hill work in the next few weeks before Beachy Head. See you there I hope, Rosemary.

I was lucky with regards to legs being ok after the race. Went out for about an hour yesterday and could run fine. Back to training for Caesars now... any tiredness from the race may well come out when I hit the track on Wed!

I love XC races! I struggle to keep up with the front guys but a fast 5 miles in forests and mud is brilliant!

WiB, I cannot believe you were out running yesterday!  It was all I could do to hobble round Excel.  I'm struggling with going down stairs too.

Debra, I can honestly say it was the hardest event I have ever done, it's harder than Beachy for sure, mainly because you couldn't maintain an even pace for any length of time due to the continually changing terrain/camber of the fields/hills etc.

Well done, WiB, you the man.

Rosemary - I was surprised myself as I am normally a write off for a couple of days after a race!

Cheers, don't think I'll ever get a win and be as speedy as you WiB but just following what everyone else here is doing is a real inspiration for me.
Also great to get a real feel of events from peoples reviews - helps narrow down the list!
