WIB - the beauty of that prize is how good their kit is! I've only got one of their tops and it's really good.

Rosemary - depends a bit, my Achilles is still sore, but getting better. Meant to be a nice Saturday locally so wanted to head off and do a nice 20m loop like a couple of weeks ago...I'll see on Saturday morning.. Hope you have a great time at Loch Ness

Loch Ness is on the list but not his year. Was up that way this summer for a holiday - fantastic scenery for a run - have fun Rosemary.
Quiet weekend for me - contemplating a local track 3k on Monday night (just because I have never run on a track!) Not an ultra I know but a little speedwork before next marathon can't hurt.

Might get to run my parkrun on Saturday. Sunday, considering Barns Green HM as part of my lead in to Beachy Head: undulating (good), road (bad).

Done some good faster running (for me) this week, which felt good. Now need to concentrate on more hill work! Also looking forward to practicing night running.

Debra - barns green still taking entries? That's my club championship HMso would like to take a shot at that. Was announced late so not sure how many are doing it this year.

Lou - can join me for 16 or so on the south downs on Sunday! You will have to forgive me and my tired legs for going slow though

Wib.....your 'slow' is my fast !!! .....so yes, only time i will be your pace is when you have tired legs-or a broken one...but i suspect you would still be quicker

16miles would be perfect actually to test out my new backpack...you will be sorry you suggested it now! lol

or you can give your new kit a proper test and we can do an unsupported SDW end to end!?

WiB. According to the website you can still enter - £22 now, or £25 on the day if not full. I'll probably enter on the day if I go - decide what to do on Saturday based on how my legs feel (may get to run my parkrun), whether I can be bothered to get up early enough, and what some other club members are doing about extending the club run on Sunday morning.

I fancy a long ish run this weekend as well - the ankle feels a lot better this morning, so I think i'm going to chance it. Tomorrow looks the nicest weather, so I fancy a run along an old Roman road and the coast again

ultrarocker: sounds lovely!

Debra - only worked the route out a couple of weeks ago - it's 7m along the Peddars Way, a horrible 2m of ankle deep sand along the North Norfolk Coast Path, then through a seaside town (stop for a coffee and a doughnut for refuelling ) then along the modern sea defences for a couple of miles, along an old sea wall for a few miles, then back inland through a forest, and then a road section back to the car. It's exactly 20m and I can see me using it a lot, only takes half hour to drive to, there's some slopes (can't call them hills around here!!!), a real mix of terrain...

We have lost a couple of runners in Sparta but still got some guys going strong! Lizzy Hawker looks to be flying in 4th place and 10 mins off the lead
