I thought ultras where just for the love of running!

Hey Lirish hows your groin problem? I guess that must have been you doing an impression of a man trying to run in a plaster cast in the winter100. The look on your face said it all. How you even made it to the first checkpoint beats me!

Unfortunately Ian I'm remarkably stupid when it comes to running and when I should stop. That does indeed sound like me. Still troubling me unfortunately, there seems to be some disagreement between my private Physio and mo doctor about what it is, Physio feels its a herniated tendon sheath whilst doc is slightly more clueless so I'm booked in for another scan in the new year.
Spen just because you're competitive in your running doesn't mean you love it any more or less than those further back in the field

Cheers all... We should have some fun!

Spen - I love running and I love racing. Whether that is against people who at the end if the day can grab a beer with or against a clock. As long as you are having fun you are doing it right I reckon.

Lirish - I am my own worst enemy when injured. Hope you get it sorted soon.

I am running a chunk of the SDW just after new year... Washington to Eastbourne. if anyone fancies joining me. Probably 5th Jan.

I directed a parkrun in the morning. Later ran the 2.5 miles from my in-laws home to check & feed the cat, and back again!

Hope everyone is having a pleasant festive season.

I went out for a quick one yesterday morning, turned my ankle and now can't walk. Just when my knee was starting to feel good again too. If I make it to sdw next year it'll be a bloody miracle at this rate

Nothing yesterday but been out for a 6 mile bimble this morning

shawk: Sympathies! My ankle is practically better, so I was thinking I'd be able to get out for some longer runs - and now I've picked up a cough/sore throat, feel grotty and don't know whether I'll be up for running the next day or few...

25 miles on the SDW today. Very very windy, hard work for not a lot of pace. Anyone else out today?

Who has put in for one of the French cheese races?! UTMB already 130% subscribed! CCC only 90% so far.

You're tougher than me - went out yesterday with the intent of doing a decent long run, gave up after 8 miles. Was fighting my way from Kingston to Woodingdean, barely able to stand up.

Dog enjoyed it, though.  Must stop running with her - too demoralising!
