share your ambitions/goals/training here on a 'newbie ultra' thread........
Wait ultra running is competitive?
Well blow me down with an empty packet of crisps
I thought ultras where just for the love of running!
Hey Lirish hows your groin problem? I guess that must have been you doing an impression of a man trying to run in a plaster cast in the winter100. The look on your face said it all. How you even made it to the first checkpoint beats me!
Has anyone seen what this chap is up to - http://docandrewmurray.com/run-the-world/
A short film put together by some Winchester Uni students at Caesars Camp this year.
Anyone else trained today ? Did a steady 7 mile run along the towpath to try out new trail shoes. Then did 26 miles on road bike to try out new jacket,Very pleased with both,Merry Chritmas all
I directed a parkrun in the morning. Later ran the 2.5 miles from my in-laws home to check & feed the cat, and back again!
Hope everyone is having a pleasant festive season.
I went out for a quick one yesterday morning, turned my ankle and now can't walk. Just when my knee was starting to feel good again too. If I make it to sdw next year it'll be a bloody miracle at this rate
shawk: Sympathies! My ankle is practically better, so I was thinking I'd be able to get out for some longer runs - and now I've picked up a cough/sore throat, feel grotty and don't know whether I'll be up for running the next day or few...
shawk; my sympathies also, twisted mine last week, its still bruised be but its been OK to run on for the last 3 days.Mrs DT been stuck in Hospital for the last week ,so been making up for it by Biking and Running every day ,then a 40+ mile round trip for visiting times,Debra Bourne hope your cold clears up soon
You're tougher than me - went out yesterday with the intent of doing a decent long run, gave up after 8 miles. Was fighting my way from Kingston to Woodingdean, barely able to stand up.
Dog enjoyed it, though. Must stop running with her - too demoralising!
