Forum + Google Chrome....

So I decided to make the switch to Google Chrome today after a long while with Firefox (which I will miss )

However, I'm having problems with the editing tools. On Firefox (and Opera, before that) I had the full range of stuff along the top - smileys, fonts, font size, etc - but now, on Chrome, all I have is Bold, Italics, Underline, Link and Image. And none of them do anything.

I'm assuming it's the browser that's the problem, but is there a fix, or should I go back to Firefox/Opera?

HI Running Duck

As per previous user posts, I'm afraid we have a known bug with Google Chrome (in that the edit bar with the smilies isn't appearing) at present.

Sorry for the inconvenience

Hi Catherine,

Have been using GC for a while now and have also been on the RWUSA site where it works fine.

Can RWUK not find out what the problem/fix is from your sister/parent site and get it sorted.

Many thanks,

Still the same - it's a PITA having to fire up IE to get quote to work :/

Exlporer is very slow as where GC is very fast

I've also noticed that there is no option to quote a post in Chrome, but it's fine in IE and Firefox. It's a shame as I can't go back to the others now I've gotten so used to Chrome.

Catherine RW - I have the same problem with Chrome that others are reporting, but I also have the same thing with IE8 following a computer freeze that reset all my settings, passwords and the like. What I experience is exactly the same as with Chrome so I can't use anything that I can't type the old-fashioned way. I re-installed IE8 to no avail and now I wonder if there's a setting in RW that I don't know about.

BTW these things do work if you go back and re-edit after submission as I did here.

It must be an RW setting somewhere as I've just got my laptop up and running again with IE8 and the toolbar is just the same on there.
