This could be due to the fact that yesterday was one of the busiest days we've had on the forums in a while. When there's so much activity notifications can get caught up in the server and start to block.
I'll try and see if the techies can start them up again, but instead of starting them from when they stopped, we'll try and start them from now instead. That way yours and everyone else's mail boxes wont become a mess. (fingers crossed).
