It appears RW have done away with the training log, there is a link at the bottom of the FETCH website saying:

"If you are a user of the older runner's training log that was previously here, and you'd like to retrieve your data, please send feedback. Sorry for any inconvenience."

I have emailed them as I'm really disappointed that they have changed the running log without letting users know. I have been logging runs on here for a while and think they should reinstate the old running log! I really hope that everyone's information isn't lost.

WHAT?!?!

How very dare they?!

Surely not.

Has any one heard any more on this? I emailed yesterday but haven't heard back yet?

I emailed and this is the response I got:

"Sorry for the inconvenience - I look after Fetcheveryone.com, which is owned
by Natmag Rodale i.e. the same company that owns Runner's World. Indeed, if
you look at Fetcheveryone, you can see that it says "A Runner's World Site"
just above the logo.

In straightforward terms, what's happened is that the web address you
normally use has been linked to a different server. The old server will
still be humming away, and I'm pretty confident that your data is still
perfectly intact on that server.

I've asked my boss (who oversees RW and Fetcheveryone) for help in tracking
it down. The old training log is a US-based system I think, so it might take
a while to get in touch with the right people. Also as far as I can tell,
that site was last updated in the region of five years ago - and training
logs have come along a huge amount since then.

Of course, I understand how important it is to have your training
information - I run too, and it's good to look back and see improvements,
and to see what sort of training you did before your best ever race, and
that sort of thing. So I do know where you're coming from, and I will do my
best to retrieve that information for you.

In the worst case scenario, we can link the web address back to the old
server temporarily, to enable you to export your data, and then I can import
it into Fetcheveryone for you - but fingers crossed for a neater solution.
Once again, sorry for the inconvenience."

Hmm. Does seem like they'll be able to get the data back. I'll post again if I get any more details from them.

That sounds promising, have you tried importing it to fetch everyone yet?
24/03/2012 at 14:35
This is bloody ridiculous - a bit of warning would have been nice! I don't use Fetch, I use Runner's World.

Thank you Kate. Hope that something can be sorted. I am quite shocked by the level of carelessness demonstrated here. Surely runnersworld knows how important these things are to their users?

25/03/2012 at 21:41

Agree with you all  and DEFINITELY not a happy bunny. even a little warning that the system was changing would have been COURTEOUS if nothing else!!! 6YEARS  of records that i still believe will be down the pan. Agree with Jj and I use RW not FETCH GGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Thanks Kate for posting that reply. Fingers crossed they can get all of our data back but I liked the RW training log! I've tried others and they're just not the same.
