Gear pick: Incredisocks

Running is hard on the feet; blisters, bruising and black toenails sometimes feel like a right of passage for runners, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Some correctly fitting kit can make a world of difference and these socks from Incredisocks claim to boost blood and oxygen flow to the feet to reduce inflammation, help in preventing pain, swelling and increasing the range of motion. They sound like super socks, so how do they perform?

The socks are incredibly comfortable and provided a decent amount of cushioning. They have a 3-D weave design to offer support in the right places. The thermo-regulating features were a bonus and my feet remained reasonably cool despite warm conditions, the most notable benefit of this for me was their ability to remain dry. I’ve run in them several times, including for London Marathon, and survived with just the usual wear and tear to my feet. The socks provide a snug fit without being restrictive or causing any chaffing, plus the ankle height of the sock also means that they don't get in the way of the rest of your kit.

If I was to add a suggestion for improvement, I’d request more variety in colours and design.
