After running kit without needing to remortgage your house? We put USA Pro's latest range to the test.
Running kit can cost a small fortune. It is easy to spend the best part of £100 on a pair of sweat-wicking leggings and top. Whilst the benefits you get from this kind of quality is often worth the investment, there are some more bank balance friendly options worth checking out. USA Pro have just launched a new kit range so we took it for a test drive.
The collection comes in flattering cuts and a number of colour options and would be well suited to gym workouts or classes such as yoga. But it also makes for decent running attire. It doesn’t have all of the technical performance features of higher end running kit but for the value, you can’t really fault it.
The ladies fitness jacket is exceptionally good value for a jacket and I was very impressed by both its comfort and fit. Thumb loops and a chin guard are a bonus for keeping warm on chillier runs. It is also slightly longer than the average jacket which seals in warmth and elongates the torso, equaling a flattering, slimming fit. It contains breathable mesh paneling for good ventilation. Overall a great option for cold but dry runs.
These three quarter leggings are very comfortable and stretchy, ideal for gym or yoga but they also work well for shorter running sessions. The wide elasticated waistband and flatlock seams help you to avoid any chaffing or uncomfortable bulging. They don’t fit as snugly as standard running leggings though so are not as supportive on your muscles.
The racer vest comes with a built-in bra and a racer back design with cross over shoulder straps so you feel well supported. Flatlocked seams and an elasticated waistband make it comfortable from the offset.
The verdict: a great stylish budget alternative for sportswear.
