Review: Wheyhey, the protein ice cream

by Annie Rice

At last the sun has made its debut and it’s here to stay – at least for the week anyway - so frozen treats are in high demand. Unfortunately everyone’s favourite Mr Whippy has limited nutritional value so the idea of healthy ice cream sounded a little too good to be true.

But we’ve been pleasantly surprised by Wheyhey. First and foremost, in terms of taste you cant really fault them. Creamy and indulgent with a thick consistency, they give you everything you want from your frozen snack. Available in the classic strawberry, chocolate and vanilla.

So are they actually healthy? Each serving contains around 165 calories and 4.5g of fat, not bad at all. The big sell is the protein content with an impressive 22g per pot of high quality why protein isolate.

The ice cream does contain whole cream and although there are a few slightly less natural ingredients on the line up, it is relatively innocent with no added sugar. It's also gluten free.

Final verdict? If you’re an ice cream connoisseur who eats nothing but the real deal Devonshire good stuff, then this wont quite hit the spot, but for a fit persons frozen treat, we’re sold.

Like the look of this but where can we buy it?

Anyone know how many gram's the ice cream pots are? Asking because there are 22g of whey protein in each one and the body can only cope with about 18gram's from memery?

This might not be the best way to get a balanced diet and you might be able to sell your wee after as a whey protein drink?
