Completing a marathon is an achievement, but covering 26.2 miles while fundraising for a good cause is doubly satisfying. Combine that with one of the most stunning courses in the UK and the Brighton Marathon on Sunday 6th April 2014 is unbeatable value.
With over 300 charities to choose from we have something to suit everyone’s taste, from the personal touch of a local unit to the nation-wide operator with global clout.
Whatever takes your fancy, you can choose and they will all be equally delighted to accommodate and welcome you on board for the 2014 event. Fund raising brings its own satisfaction, but there are other benefits that will help turn your day into a memorable outing.
By representing a charity you will benefit from their wealth of experience, extra support and motivation all the way through from training to race day and beyond.
Apart from their vocal support, we at the Brighton Marathon will also be doing our bit to make your day that little bit special.
Pumping out the rhythm, an array of bands placed strategically around the course will create that extra special carnival atmosphere.
As you finish, you will discover our unique Beach Village which we have created to include charity marquees where friends, family and your fellow fundraisers will gather to welcome you home and celebrate your achievement.
Then there is the course itself, ranging through the beating heart of Britain’s most exciting city, offering breath taking views along the Sussex coastline before you reach the finish on Brighton’s famous beach. Not to mention the crowds as Brighton Hove turns out in droves to honour your efforts.
Make no mistake, fundraising is an ever increasing part of the Brighton Marathon. In 2013 there was a 30% rise in this aspect of the event and with your help it can only increase.
We have been going for just four editions, but already we have raised £20 million for good causes the length and breadth of the UK. It is something we are rightly proud of, but its success has been created by you. Be a part of it.
