Best Shoe: Asics Gel Landreth 7

Usually something of an unsung hero in the Asics range, the Landreth is a jack of all trades, suitable for supinators, neutral runners and those with mild stability needs. Bracketed by us as a high-mileage workhorse for lighter runners, it won Best Update in our Autumn 2011 Shoe Guide, with testers particularly loving the reduced weight, asymmetrical lacing and lower profile midsole amid myriad other impressive tweaks. A shoe with a lot of bang for its buck.

I'm interested to discover that you love iMapMyRun just as I'm struggling with it! Unfortunately, it will only record 1-mile splits, no matter how you adjust it. Their customer service function is somewhat lacking - not a peep out of them so far.

I think RunKeeper is actually a better app!

Well done to the Richmond Park Marthon, winners of the Best New Race Award in the Runner's World Personal Best Wards 2012. Apparently it was a great race and a deserving winner. Super congratulations!

Richmond just pipped the Trionium Bath Hilly Half that I organised  (94% overall, vs 93%) for best new race - some of my runners went the wrong way at one point, underlining the importance of marshals and of briefing them right!
