Runner's World Playlists: Special Offer

Don't miss out on this special offer - Runner's World playlists just £4.49 for a limited time only

Posted: 20 December 2010

Need a motivation boost for training on those cold winter days? Well, we've got just the thing for you - two expertly produced Runner's World playlists for just £4.49 apiece.

You can only buy the playlists on iTunes, and the offer lasts from December 20-January 30 so head over there now - scientifically designed running playlists are just a click away.

Runner's World Playlist 3: Pop Mix Power Run

A 60-minute pop mix to rhythmically guide you through your training.

The sequence of songs corresponds to an interval session made up of 10 four-minute efforts, each followed by a two-minute recovery. The tempo also builds throughout the playlist, so that each effort and recovery is slightly faster than the last, making it great for boosting stamina.

While the tempo of the music is important, the song’s vibe can also have a significant impact on your performance – pop is a failsafe when you need a pick-me-up, so a whole playlist of feel-good beats should keep you on your toes. Plus, motivational lyrics such as those in On a Mission, Ready for the Weekend and Chase the Sun will give you a mental boost when you feel like you’re starting to flag. We know you’re already itching to tune in…

Runner's World Playlist 2: Rock'N'Run

A 78-minute rock mix to boost your mood and stamina during a run.

The songs are sequenced to guide you through your run - a great accompaniment for incorporating faster-paced, stamina-building tempo intervals into your run.

Karageorghis’ research showed that it is ideal for the music to be associated with physical activity, for example through the lyrics or association – hence the inclusion of songs such as 1000 Miles An Hour, Our Velocity and a version of The Chain, otherwise known as the BBC’s Formula One theme tune.

We can’t guarantee you’ll run as fast as a Grand Prix car, but this mix will help to turbo-charge your training.

Wanted to buy the pop mix on this offer, but it's coming up £6.99, not £4.49.  Can anyone help?
