In short: One of the best races I've ever done (Half Marathon) In full: I absolutely LOVED the Half Marathon! Right up there with the best races I've ever run. I had a smile on my face the whole way around the challenging multi-terrain course. It was an undulating, tough route, but such lovely varied scenery, and wonderful marshals. The race entry included a year-long pass to the Eden Project, plus a pint and a pasty at the end of the race, a medal, and a t-shirt. A nice touch was that the t-shirts were available in different sizes. I know I've mentioned the marshals already, but I feel the need to rave about them some more - they were brilliant, as were the locals out cheering us on and handing out jelly babies. They really made the day for me. I wore a Garmin, and you can see the trace of the route here: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/120481721 Date of review: October 10, 2011

In short: Fabulous, despite the foul weather and shortened course In full: As others have explained, the route was shortnened on account of the unseasonal weather. I entered the 'Challenge' event for steadier types who want to enjoy the scenery. Thought it was marvellous! I'll guiltily confess to being relieved they took out the pass - I was intimidated as hell by the weather and not sure how i'd handle the conditions on the day. I thought they made a smart choice. Lovely atmosphere and truly *FABULOUS* marshalls. Just as with Hawkshead last year, this is a cracking event. I'll be back next year to do another in the series. Thanks all. In short: Pretty, flat, and friendly... a great improvement on last year In full: I heard all kinds of bad things about last year's race, but decided to try it this year and find out for myself. Relieved to see that the organisers took on board the criticism they received and made this year's event one to remember... for the right reasons! Plenty of water around the course, super friendly marshalls, good signage... and a pretty route around the villages of Ashchurch and Bredon. I had a lovely day, and will definitely consider a repeat visit in 2010. Date of review: May 10, 2009

In short: Love it! Small but perfectly formed In full: Lovely little race starting at one end of Weston, doing a loop through Sulgrave (past the Manor) and back up an evilish little hill into Weston, finishing at the May Day Fair. Lovely atmosphere, pretty route. And a small (according to the label!) t shirt in the goody bag at the end. I try and do this every year - and it gets better every time. Date of review: May 6, 2008

In short: Perfect! In full: Fabulously well organised, friendly and beautiful run. Only wish I could make some of the other dates this year as the Hawkshead race will go down as one of my all time favourites. Really quite fantastic. Thanks to the organisers - and see you again next year! Date of review: April 21, 2008

In short: Fantastic organisation - a great event, yet again. In full: I don't know how they do it every year, but FLM really is an extraordinary event. It's the organisation and atmosphere which lifts this above other long distance races. The crowds this year were quite phenomenal (something to be said for the hot weather!). The first 14m tripped by, then it got tougher. I finished in 4.05 - had no problems getting water en route, although I gather some of the people who took over 6hrs did suffer. My only gripe was the goody-bag at the end - the apple was good, as were the jelly babies - but we really could have done with something higher in carbs than 'diet' crisps and a nasty dry chewy cereal bar! Give me a mars bar any day! Date of review: April 25, 2007

In short: Flatter than something really flat that's been flattened... In full: Well, there was very slight hill, but it was certainly the flattest race I've ever done. Nicely organised and friendly. Plenty of water stations which was good considering the heat. Lots of people got PBs. Those of us training for London found it hard not to go too fast! Date of review: April 8, 2007

In short: Fast, flatish, friendly - and well organised In full: Lovely race - organisation seemed peachy to me, and a really good and varied route - both town and country crammed in. Marshalling was excellent which made life much easier. Took 6mins of my pb, so am still smiling like the proverbial Cheshire cat! Choice of medal or t-shirt at the end which was nice, and a much needed banana. Top race. Date of review: March 25, 2007

In short: flat, flat, BIG HILL, flat, flat, MASSIVE HILL..... flat, flat! In full: Lovely race - beautifully organised, friendly, nice scenery. Well marshalled with water stations in all the right places. The two hills were hard - especially the second one at 10miles - but it was well worth the trip and I'd do it again. Only thing that baffles me is why so few people were there doing it - I thought it was lovely! Date of review: March 11, 2007
