In short: Brrrrrrrr! Fantastic to run on the Downs though, will be back.
In full: Not many folk opted for the 5K and with the split start and change of route to avoid a conservation area (decided last minute) it was a slightly lonely plod through the sleet and mud. However, I love the Downs and I think this race has potential to be fab with better weather and a bit better organisation- getting the route sorted and the 5/10K split so if there aren't so many folk doing the 5K we can go at the same time as the 10K? Having the visitor centre there for family to hang out and have a cup of tea afterwards is a definite plus!

In short: Great race, will be back for more.
In full: First time I'd done this one and really enjoyed it. It was hot but there was a cool breeze, some lovely views and some animals to boot. It's pretty stress free with no roads to cross, plenty of room to overtake and tarmac all the way. With 3 laps you could drink or throw water over yourself at regular intervals- appreciated on such a hot day. A bit pricey entry and your spectators have to pay too, but I'll be back for more.

In short: Great race but more toilets please!
In full: Fantastic having the chip to chip timing this year. Have bettered my time each year I've run it, but still find the hills hard and the last uphill bit in the park tricky, particularly as I'd run the first half a bit faster than I should! Please can we have more women's/unisex would do (!) toilets, the queue was very long. Mud wasn't so bad and the race ran very smoothly with the biggest field this year. Will be back!

In short: Great undulating 10 miler with lovely countryside (and the M1)
In full: I didn't mind the chaotic start, but it was. As a slower runner I stood at the back (once I discovered where the back was). We had chips, but it was gun to chip and those of us the back were left saying "where's the start line" wondering when to press go on the stop watch.

Once we got over the first half a mile it was fantastic. Country lanes with very few cars. A big hill in the middle, and encouraging marshals.
The banana bread at the end was lovely too. I will be back- my 10 minute miles put me near the back of the field but hope to improve for next year!

In short: fast, flat and a lovely second half along the tow path
In full: Great PB potential (I got one!) and the rain was welcome. My impressions as a first-timer here were that this is a very well established race attracting all the local clubs with a fine course that makes fast times likely. Because of this no extra effort is made re info for changing/parking/welcoming of newbies etc. The information however was all provided with the race number, and the marshalls were excellent. It did however feel a bit "in the know" when you arrived. Next year I shall park nearer and join the "in the know" majority!

In short: Watch out for the hills in the second half
In full: Very enjoyable race in some of Surrey's finest countryside. The first long hill at mile 7 was "fun" and I had some energy for it, the following ones at 8 and 9 (o.k so they weren't that bad, but I had run the first half too fast!)were less so. Still, my first 10 miles race so a PB nonetheless.

In short: lovely low key race
In full: Very friendly race with excellent marshalling and organisation. The route through the woods is beautiful and I enjoyed the route passing horse riders (who very patiently stopped and waited for several runners to pass) and taking in a cricket match. Small numbers mean there is no fighting for your space and the marshalls win top prizes for their friendly words of encouragement. Initially I was less than thrilled by "there is no clock" on the race information but it actually made it all the more personal to have my time shouted out by the guy with the stop watch (race organiser?) as I got to the finish. Definitely one to do again.

In short: Beat my PB and good camaraderie, but where was the 5 mile marker!
In full: Enjoyed this today, especially cruising down the hill (after a steady climb up), perhaps a little too fast as I slowed later! My main criticism has to be WHERE WAS THE 5 MILE MARKER! I was depending on this before upping my effort and got somewhat depressed when it didn't appear and thought I was way off my PB. Apparentely it was there, just rather well hidden. Was a nice surprise when the end of the course came in sight and is definitely one to do again- more toilets needed too!
