In short: Enjoyable race to start the year. Great atmosphere among the runners. In full: Firts time of running for me. My 12th marathon and only my 2nd small event. I really thought I might miss the croud support of city marathons but I didn't at all. You get to recognise the supporters and it's great to easily spot family and friends! I have never run a marathon where there has been such banter and camoraderie amongst all the runners. The only disappointment was the finish. No direction and lack of marshalls. In short: In full: The course makes up for a rather poorly organised event. The fun runners running 2 to 3 abreast in the first mile held a lot of people up. The end was pretty chaotic. Couldn't find the drinks at the finish or anywhere to put my chip. Luckily I arrived in good time and parked off site, which made for an easier get away.
Its a shame, I really want to enjoy Henley - its local. There needs to be improvements and then I think with a goos challenging course and better planning it could be a top Autumn Half. Date of review: October 11, 2006
In short: Fantasticly organised pre-London race. Not much support and two ten-mile laps, which makes it tough - but you feel ready for London when you've done it!! Boosts your confidence!! Date of review: August 24, 2004
