In short: Yet again well organised and superbly marshalled on a flat fast course
In full: My 5th time at Abingdon and 3rd time running a PB on the course. I come back every year as it is a fast course and well organised race. Apart from the course and marshallig it is the little touches such as: free T-Shirt, stadium finish, coffee and biscuits at end and hot showers.

This year was no exception apart from the shortish off-road sections which were a bit muddy from the recent heavy rain but it seems to be the only thing the organisers could not sort out.... and it would be nice if they could fill in the subway at mile 24 and keep that stretch flat ;)

In short: Flat, fast course and well managed
In full: You will struggle to find a flatter course, if you exclude the 2 subways that you have to run through towards start and end of course. The course is basically two laps through some lovely villages with decent support. Nice finish in town centre. Excellent marshals and nice medal plus banana at end. Will be back next year.

In short: Great marshals and good course
In full: 2 laps with some gentle hills. Scenic course. Great marshals with plenty of water stations with power gels. Definitely worth doing 20 miler as part of marathon build up and running part (or all) at marathon pace

In short: Lovely location and good race
In full: There are not many half marathons in August. The idea of racing in the blazing sun is not what most want. This race though is in a beautiful wood, along traffic read tarmac roads that are shaded by trees.

The course does have a few hills and is a 2 laps. The start and finish are in the ground of a public school. The scenery is all lovely.

The marshals do a wonderful job, 2 water station each lap, lots of vocal support from the marshals. There are not many other people about apart from the start/finish area.

This year there was a problem with the portaloos - there weren't any! Hence the queues for the loos in the schools were long. To deal with this the start was delayed by 15 minutes.

Overall, a well run race, friendly marshals and worth doing if looking to race in August.

In short: Great well organised half marathon with lots of supporters along route
In full: Very well organised and marshalled half marathon. Course is scenic and with a few gentle hills but generally flat and fast. Good vocal crowd support along the route. Great race for pre-London build up to test fitness or as a stand alone half. I will be back for more next year.

In short: Well organised race with a few hills early on along country roads
In full: I really enjoyed the race. The changing rooms are in the jockey's weighing rooms (probably a joke in there somewhere about being considered overweight for first time in my life).

The course is all on quiet roads. First mile is down hill then next 3 miles are up. After that the course gently undulates until the mile 8 which is pretty steep. The finish does suddenly appear after turning off the roundabout so limited chance to wind up a sprint (assuming you have anything left!)

Overall, excellent marshalling and well organised race. Hanging around at the start was a bit chilly but that can be blamed on the lack of heat my fellow skinny runners generate.

I'll be back.

In short: Lovely course and very well organised race
In full: Scenic course but without much flat. 2 lap course with ups and downs and one longer hill. Good marshalling and plenty of water stations. Finish in lovely grounds of public school.
