In short: What a lovely race!
In full: Really enjoyed this, apart from the long downhill which did for my legs. The support though sparse was lovely, and the views of course were superb. I will be back next year, maybe to do the full marathon.

In short: Excellent organisation as ever, pity about the lack of support from the locals.
In full: Excellent organisation, a fine race, interesting new route. I do feel sorry for the organisers though, they work so hard to put on this race but they are badly let down by the locals. Apart from little pockets of enthusiastic support on the route, there was poor support by the people of Tamworth on the whole. Tamworthians hang your heads in shame.

In short: A PB so not much to complain about, except perhaps the lack of parking, and the muddy finish.

In short: Lovely day, very long hill, great marshalls, fantabulous pud
In full: My third Pud Run, and a PB. The hills don't seem to get any easier, the weather doesn't seem to get any warmer, but it is just a lovely, friendly race that keeps me coming back. GB1 you can run on the footpaths through Smalley village.

In short: Wet, hilly, challenging, heroic marshalls!
In full: My first ever marathon, and how wise I was to pick this one. Beautiful wild scenery, extreme weather, wonderful (if sparse in places) support, heroic marshalls. Could have done with more portaloos at the start and/or more coaches with toilets on them. Otherwise what a wonderfully organised race this is. Can't wait for next year.

In short: Very well organised, very friendly, and plenty of water stations. Shame about the weather!
In full: Very well organised race, and very friendly and encouraging marshalls and policemen/women. Plenty of water stations (GNR organisers please note), with the welcome addition of wet sponges too. Not too bad scenery wise once you get out of the housing estates, and plenty of potential for a PB. I knocked 23 mins off my PB on this race! Definitely be back next year.

In short: Very well organised race. Pity I couldn't finish it.
In full: Unfortunately due to a torn calf muscel I didn't finish this race, but the stewards were very friendly and concerned and made sure I was OK. Interesting to see the comments about the Mayor and Mayoress. They are very visible I'll give them that, with their pictures in the paper every week. More for their own benefit than anyone else believe me, they are real fame junkies. Did they mention that the council they represent are selling off our castle, and other town jewels? No thought not.

In short: Poor organisation, not enough water, too many bottles underfoot
In full: Considering they have been doing this event for 25 years, I thought the organisation was poor. A half hour wait for the toilets at the start, ran out of water at the start, 30 mins to get to the starting line, no more water until nearly the 5th mile. No water at all at 8.5 miles. Too many people, 40000 would be more than enough. I'm pleased I did it, although I was a lot slower than anticipated because of the heat and lack of water. My deep sympathies go out to the families of the men who died.
