In short: Dull and unwelcoming race
In full: Not a fan of this race have to say. Came from Manchester to do htis race but I didn't find it very welcoming. Out in the countryside but all the narrow roads seemed to just blend into each other after a while, nothing to break it up. Lots of sharp bends on the roads that I didn't like.

At the end just got a bag a fruit - pretty eavy to carry home and didn't feel like much of a "reward" for completing a race. No one gave me ice cream at the end and I didn't see anyone with any or anywhere where you were meant to pick it up from - maybe they'd just ran out by the time I finished.

Compared to the recent and near by Freckleton half marathon this race was extremely poor.

In short: Nice race through Fylde countryside
In full: First time doing this race. Got there with less than 5 mins to spare, ladies in number collection tent very helpful (put chip on for me and helperd me put race number on), not even questioned or told off for being late!! If only all races could be this understnading!

About the course - scenic in places, highlight was wrea green, very picturesque village. Maybe I've been spoilt doing other races like Keswick and Buxton, not as good as these obviously but still pretty scenic.

Only major route imrpvoement I would like is to run past Lytham green (currently it just touches on Lytham going down Saltcoates Rd before heading back to Freckleton). Just seems a pity we go so near yet miss out one of the nicest parts of Fylde. Make up for this with a more direct route out.

Hot sunny day on route but race was very generous with water points. I can't stomach much water running but this course also had sponges and showers - both of which were great. I wish more races would adopt these.

Post race got a Kit Bag - from what I saw it looked quite good, but went to loo and finish and forgot to pick it up again! Tea, water and bananas on offer at finish, so something for everyone.

Overall, very good race. If I am still in the area next year would definately do it again, but not sure I'd be motivated enough to travel a good distance to do it.
