In short: Slick organisation
In full: A twisty, muddy, undulating race which proved too much for my pb potential! A bit odd having the waves set off 15 mins apart - took away from the atmosphere, I felt - but definitely helped to spread the runners out on the narrow paths. The winner had crossed the line before my wave had set off! Some marshalls could have done some encouragement rather than just standing there silently, but a couple were great. Fab organisation, t-shirt given out before race giving option of wearing it to run in, and goody bag had all sorts including drinks bottle, and Runners World tent gave out shaving gel, moisturiser and other bits and bobs. My one complaint is not providing a tie to attach your chip, meaning I had to unthread my laces, then again the second I had crossed the line! I would bring my family next year as lots for the kids to keep them entertained.

In short: The hills don't get any easier!
In full: Mile markers were unexpected, and a "500m to go" or similar sign would have helped at the finish as it's hard to know how much further you have to go!
Excellent organisation although signs on the desks for chips and then T-shirts would have been better placed on the wall as no-one could see them!
This is my second time and I'd do it again - the weather helped too!
Oh and I'm a plodder, got round in just under and hour.

In short: Tough hills but lovely scenery!
In full: This was my second year and I beat my time by around 5 minutes! The hills were still quite tough but I was more prepared for them. I'd like to say thank you to the 2 runners who kept me going till the end - I nearly beat my pb so a big thank you!

In short: A lot of ups and downs but nice route
In full: Through tracks in the forest so no view at all but a good run - there were some steep downs and ups though! I found it quite tough and I've done quite a few 10ks, don't know about anyone else?

In short: Hard on the legs!
In full: This was my first 10k this time last year and I improved on my time by 5 mins but found those hills just as tough!! Well organised tho I got a bit trapped at the start as people filtered in from the side road - needs cordoning off maybe? Also the odd inconsiderate car pulling out in front of runners making them stop, but organisers can't help that. Overall a good challenging race!

In short: Horrible weather but good race!
In full: My first at this distance, being a 10k-er normally but trying to step up for Sheffield half in May. Definitely a good training run, nice quiet roads and one lap so never boring, and the killer hills lived up to their warnings, with a few extra added in!!
Would have liked to have known when drinks stations were coming up as no info provided prior to race, and energy drink in 2nd half would have helped me.
Marshalls were stars staying out as long as it took me to get round in the cold, wind and rain - thank you!!

In short: Stinking bogs and killer hillls and finish but a good laugh.
In full: Furthest I had done before this was about 9.5 miles in training and 6.2 in a race so was quite a challenge and legs gave out in final bogs near end! Mud really does smell but a great course apart from that!!
