In short: Nice London race without the hype
In full: I was wanting to do a half marathon this year in London as have tended to go out of London as races tend to be packed in London. Staggered start is something other organisers need to have. Great support on the course at times was flagging but people were out of there houses cheering and hopefully this will now be a regular annual event. Good volunteers with water and encouragement on hand. Like others would have been nice to have had a fuel station ( jelly babies , sports drinks etc). Special thanks to the guy who had a music player around 10/11 miles which spurred me on when I was flagging and the kids high fiving around the 12/13 mile mark.

In short: Under rated London run.
In full: I ran the 15K run not so much of a race but am sure we always want to get PB's. 3 laps round a park with others is a fun way to spend a Sunday morning and it was a small field so not the usual problems of trying to pass people. I think they are organising a Hyde Park one which may be worth trying.

In short: Where is the split starts
In full: 25,000 people should be a good atmosphere, but lack of thinking such as no split starts means this is not so enjoyable weaving in and out of people. I had a free charity place but would no way pay 50 quid to run round London when I could take myself there and turn my running app on. I ended up running 10.4 k which was probably due to weaving in and out of people and felt fit but found it hard to get into a rhythm due to dodging walkers and the number of people there.

In short: Edinburgh needs to think bigger
In full: My first marathon and incredibly pleased with a 3 hr 54 minute time. Edinburgh is an amazing city and the marathon should play to the strengths of this. Enjoyed most of the course though found the second half mentally tougher and not as good as the first half. Thought event was not well supported or publicised and if I were to be tempted to go back would only be if they utilised the city more and had a better finish.

In short: Good marathon warm up
In full: I entered this race as preparation for my marathon training. I had never run as far as this before so guaranteed a personal best for completing it. This was a 4 lap course and was a bit disconcerting at times to be overtaken by decent runners, especially when I had one lap to go and people were finishing. Also there was traffic on the roads which I had assumed would be closed though it was well marshalled.
Big thanks to the marshals specially the enthusiastic ones towards the end of the lap , the ones handing out jelly babies and the lovely people shouting encouragement.

In short: Aching calf muscles but well worth it
In full: Usually have been doing road races but ran this with my sister. Great atmosphere , very supportive and fell over in a couple of puddles and people asked if I was fine , never ran in such a friendly race. Great encouragement from spectators and after ambivalence to do this will defineately be back even though the last mile felt more like 2.

In short: Not the day out I had envisaged?
In full: This was my second half marathon the first one being the incredibly well organised Henley one. This was such an anti climax. Had booked ages ago as was hoping for a good start to the year in terms of running. Had no idea the distance I ran and got lost towards the finish as was getting confused with the loop. Tended to follow everyone else and count my laps. This seemed to be such an amateur effort in organising that I have no idea how they could justify the cost.
This makes me determined to join a local club now as will find more atmosphere at a club run. Was a relieve to find tesco's on the way back to the station and get some energy drinks.
2011 races are going to vastly improve after today.

In short: 15 K in the rain in November 2010, great day out
In full: This was a well organised event. Never run an official 15k race so tryed to pace myself as good as I could. Last 5K stepped up and felt the pain. Very friendly people and all runners were welcomed.
Waiting to try and find out the official time now.

In short: First half marathon, great day out.
In full: I had run a few 10k's so attended this race with apprehension. Left early from London with family in the car and parked just before the rugby club. Good organisation apart from the usual not enough toilets. Was worried about the hill on 8 miles so took the first bit easy and actually found myself jogging up while others were walking. From 10 miles onwards was running on willpower. Finished in just over 1 hour 51 minutes so very pleased as had set a 2 hour target.

In short: Another personal best despite the hills.
In full: Nice race , not too many people and friendly atmosphere. Not enough portaloos so big queues before the race. Also just a medal no energy drinks or snakes after the race. Still managed to run in under 50 minutes so very pleased with that. Enjoy the smaller races as nice not to be tripping over others.
