In short: Jr Schmunks loved it! In full: Jr Schmunks (aged 10) ran it in 31:54 and he absolutely loved it. Ok, the course is two laps of the town centre (ie high street shops) but is easily accessible, parking is excellent and atmosphere is top notch. Definitely in diary for next year Date of review: December 10, 2009

In short: Who drank all the water? In full: Very very good race. The only fault I have is that they ran out of water at the second drinks station. I know that's not necessarily their fault (I know they were asking people to take only one bottle, but I did see at least three people defy them at the first drinks station!)but I had to pick up a 'used' bottle that had been dropped on the ground by a quicker runner that still had a fair load of water in it. There must have been more water available at the event as there was some at the finish and the children in the Junior Run were all given a bottle before they started (and I am not begrudging them that!!!!), so why was there not more than enough at the second drink atation.
Apart from that, brilliant race. Knocked 1min 40secs off time from last weeks Great Capital Run even in the scorching heat and would defo do again Date of review: July 27, 2008

In short: Beware the hills! In full: Only my 2nd 10k race so not much to compare to but hills right at outset were psychologically demanding. Things improved from the 3k mark especially with the support of Jeanette (Thanks, Jeanette!) Absolutely tremendous support from the locals, especially the South African Family at the 6k point (if you know who they are please thank them for me!) Even though I entered after the on-line cut-off there were plenty of T-shirts left over and the Mars Bar at the end was most welcome. Also having your name read out as you passed the club house made you feel special. Seemed a very relaxed race with a mixture of ages and abilities. Despite the hills I would definitely do it again, but with more training beforehand. Congratulations to the Organisers for putting on a brilliant event Well done! Date of review: September 11, 2005
