In short: Not easy - but that's what the race notes said!
In full: I'm baffled by the problems other people seem to have had. Maybe an absolute beginner would have an excuse, but beyond that the race did what it said it would! Yes, the last minute course change was a shame and meant that there was a lot of road - but what's the alternative; cancel on the morning?

Yes, there was a short queue to sign in, but you're about to run 30-miles, HTFU!!!

Agree with the comment about someone recording runners as they got to the turn around - would make it easy to cheat - but who enters these things to cheat anyway?

As for lack of water - if you run out, that's your own stupid fault. It's your own responsibility to keep hydrated. They never promised lots of water stops, yet with the route change, there was even more chance to pick up drinks!

Course markers - it's a shame these get pinched, but notes were provided (and bear in mind, these must have been put together at the last second also). Not perfectly clear and I understand how some people could have taken a wrong turn, but I found them sufficient to get around and a credit to the organisers who must have lost sleep in making all those alternative arrangements so late on.

Can't wait to try the PROPER route next year!
